Mixed messages coming in concerning Syrian refugees. No camp is able to hold them. They have contempt for food or drink offered. Pope first instructed all Catholics to help and house them, now warns against them. Are they the plague of this generation?

there is so much to speak about on this topic its a bit overwhelming .

it is a two edged sword .

it is an engineered crises forcing the spread of Islam.
it is opportunity for the gospel to reach those who were blocked from hearing it behind the muslim veil

it is both at the same time .
it is polarizing the western world -it is the prerequisite to global war
the increasing of sorrows .

and YES .. we love them .,, because our lord said through his word ..

do god to those who abuse you and use you and say all manner against you falsely .. AND love your enemy .

the world will do what the world does
it will bicker ..some will help some will hate ..some will rescue some will murder (a lot will murder ) and will procrastinate and it will go to war .and ultimately probably blame Israel and Christians -because the spirit of this world is the father of liars .

but WE.. the children of the lord in Christ Jesus.. are to LOVE

I noticed that it seems to be armies of men marching across the land, where as those fleeing with women and children are doing so by water.

I live where I grew up. I was taught to love everybody. I was taught also that some people I can love better from a distance. Some I can love better with a long handled spoon. Sometimes I would need to love some with a shovel. Right or wrong, I find this to work for me. Now I cannot imagine what these people may be suffering emotionally. But do they have the right to invade other countries under the guise of refugees? Why Europe? Why not other Islamic countries?

My thoughts exactly, why not the rich Arab states rather than Europe or the US?

If my home were threatened I tend to believe I would carry my family anywhere to safety although it seems a hardship and terrifying.

A lot less hardship and less life threatening to go to an arab state

Hard to know what to do.

If they truly have contempt for the food and drink they are offered it's hard to believe they are truly needy. I think if I fled my home nation with little more than the clothes I was wearing and found myself hungry and cold in a camp or another nation I'd be thankful for anything even remotely edible.

It's also hard to know whether any individual refugee is a genuine refugee or someone seeking to plead for shelter and then harm us.

It is interesting that wealthy Islamic nations don't seem to think this is their problem.

Perhaps we sjhould ask them to take them in and at the same time Europe should advertise that they will help refugees but only to get to an arab nation and that none will be allowed to stay.

That's one thing that often strikes me with refugee situations - the ultimate aim needs to be to get them back home, once "home" is a safe place. A solution that is reliant on them settling permanently in another nation seems like something that is ripe for abuse.

Of course it may be that if they are in a host nation for many years they may want to stay, and the host nation may consider them of sufficient value to allow them to stay, but that should be the exception rather than the norm.
