How did the story at the end of Mark make it into the Bible if they said nothing about it to anyone? Mark 16:8 "Trembling and bewildered, the women went out and fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid."

Some of the early manuscripts do not have any verses after verse 8. But for those that do, the presumption was that these women were so shocked and afraid that they at first told no one about it; but later, after other people were reporting on the same events, they felt better about discussing it and did so.

Just because they did not say anything right then does not mean they did not ever say it, even shortly later. Honestly, I only ever have read it as that they were shocked at the moment, but not as a few hours passed.

Whoever was the writer of the book of (Mark) wrote under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Which means, it doesn't matter if the matter was ever told to anyone because God sees and hears it and reveals it to the writer.
