Are there any old Black and White movies you absolutely love? How about some that you'd like to see remade? Which ones should never be remade?

I just loved Miracle In The Rain (1956)with Jane Wyman and Van Johnson. I was a teenager when I first saw it, but I fell in love with the story.

No I would not want today's producers to mess this up. LOL. Do you have a favorite Lam?

The only ones that stand out in my mind are the old black and white Twilight Zones.

Yes, I like those too. It seems they had a deeper impact than the modern versions.

I'd rather not see them remade because part of the charm is the era from which they come and the actors who play the roles. One that I saw recently and enjoyed a great deal is this "father brown the detective 1954 (alec guinness)" it was up on youtube last week but appears to be gone now. I don't see how a 1954 film can be in breach of copyright but it probably was. Seems to me that 62 years is a long time from somebody to be making money out of the performances of long dead actors ... but such is life. Oh, I found it still on youtube ...

Which one was your favorite? Creepiest?

I couldn't pick a favorite. There are some I don't care for, but I liked many of the old twilight zones. Some ones that I remember specifically and enjoyed a few times are "The Rip Van Winkle Caper", "What you need", "The Midnight Sun", "To Serve Man", "The Jeopardy Room", "Twenty-Two", and the one about the mannequins coming to life for short periods.

"To Serve Man" was interesting and had a role in at least one Simpsons episode ...

I just finished watching this old film. It's quirky but good.
